Two Rivers Lunch Check Point - Can-Am Sled Dog Race
|
|

During the 1st weekend in March, Two Rivers Lunch serves as a check point for the Can-Am Crown International Sled Dog Race. The race is divided into three separate events, a 30-mile, 60-mile, and 250-mile race. The 250-mile race is the longest and highest caliber race in the eastern United States and is a qualifier for the Iditarod and the Yukon Quest. Each year Tylor Kelly grooms over 60 miles of the rugged Allagash Wilderness in preparation of this remarkable, high octane event. The Can Am Check Point Crew at Two Rivers Lunch does a wonderful job making this event successful and fun. Come watch as the musher's cross the frozen Allagash River heading towards the Two Rivers Lunch check point. You’ll hear the sled dogs, and just try to imagine what it must be like traveling 250-miles through some of the roughest Northern Maine Wilderness by sled.
